Military Robots Book Review

Military RobotsView on BookSoap

My second grader came home talking about the different robots the military uses and honestly I was surprised how much she remembered. She kept telling me about these little robots that go into dangerous places and how they help soldiers stay safe. That was the first time in a while she voluntarily told me about what she read without me asking.

We sat down together and read through it in one sitting because it's pretty short. The pictures are really clear and show actual robots being used, which my daughter thought was pretty cool. She liked seeing the different sizes and what each one does. Nothing confused her, which is saying something because some books at this level can be all over the place. She especially pointed out the robot that looks like a little tank and asked if we could look up more about it later.

It's at a 2.5 reading level with only half a point, so my kid handled it no problem. With only 186 words it's perfect for a quick read or for kids who might be reluctant readers but interested in military or technology topics. TheInterest level says K-3 which feels right. It's not going to challenge older kids but for early elementary it's a good fit.

This would be great for a kid who loves anything military, vehicles, or technology. It also works well for kids who might not love reading but respond to short books with lots of pictures. Since it's so short, it could be a good choice for a quick book report or just to build up confidence with non-fiction reading.
